North-South Crossing of M'goun – North-South Crossing of the High Central Atlas with the Ascent of M'goun
The Happy Valley of Ait Bougmez north of the High Central Atlas is the starting point of our hike for the North-South crossing of M'goun, with the option to climb M'goun (4068 m), the roof of the High Central Atlas. Our High Atlas hike to M'goun follows a visit to the vast plateaus and pastures frequented by Berber nomads with their flocks of sheep and goats.
Day 1: Transfer from Marrakech – Ait Bougmez Valley – Ikkis N'Arous (2200 m)
Transfer from Marrakech through the city of Azilal to the High Atlas gate, before reaching the village of D'Agouti, the first village of the Happy Valley of Ait Bougmez, where we meet our muleteer team and begin our hike to M'goun through Berber villages in the Arous Valley. 5 hours by car, 2 hours 30 minutes on foot. Overnight in tents.
Day 2: Ikkis N'Arous (2200 m) – Tarkeddit Pass (3450 m) – Tarkeddit Plateau (2900 m)
A beautiful gradual ascent to Tarkeddit Pass (3450 m). Panoramic view of the vast northern slope of the M'goun massif and the surrounding mountains. Overnight in tents on the Tarkeddit Plateau, an area frequented by nomads with their herds.
Day 3: Tarkeddit (2900 m) – Summit of M'goun (4068 m) – Descent on the Southern Slope of M'goun (2800 m)
A long 8-hour hike to reach the summit of M'goun at 4068 m. From there, enjoy panoramic views of the central High Atlas Mountains, the Dades Valley, the Djebel Saghro, and the vast Sahara. 9 hours of hiking. Descent on the southern slope of the Atlas. Overnight in tents in Ifri N'Ait Hamou (2800 m).
Day 4: Tichki Valley – Ameskar (2100 m)
We are now on the southern slope of the Atlas, where nomads with their herds (goats, sheep, camels) come. The descent through the Tichki Valley to the village of Ameskar, passing small mud-built villages. 7 hours on foot. Overnight in tents.
Day 5: Ameskar – Amjgag Gorge – Valley of Roses – Boutaghrar (1850 m)
A relaxed day descending through an oleander valley (plan to cross the gorges in sandals), then crossing the village of Amjgag with its beautiful kasbahs. Lunch will be prepared by our cook by the river near the village of El Hot. After 2.5 hours of walking amidst rose fields, we reach the village of Boutaghrar.
End of our hike to M'goun. Overnight with a local family. 7 hours on foot.
Day 6: Boutaghrar – Nkoub
Return via the small town of Kelaat M'Gouna, famous for its wonderful rose products.

Ifni Lake Trekking Adventure: The Ultimate Hike through the High Atlas in Morocco

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tacheddirt
Your trekking adventure begins with a drive from Marrakech to Imlil, the main starting point for hikes in the High Atlas. Hike along the valley and cross the Tizi n'Tamatert Pass (2279m). The day ends with a campsite in the village of Tacheddirt (3000m). This stage is ideal for those seeking an authentic trekking experience in the High Atlas.
Day 2: Tacheddirt – Tizi n'Likemt (3550m) – Azib N'Likmet (2250m)
Today, you will face a 3.5-hour ascent to Tizi n'Likemt Pass (3550m), offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. After descending and having a lunch break, you will reach the remote camp at Azib N'Likmet, where you will meet nomadic shepherds. With 6 hours of hiking, this is an unforgettable highlight of the trekking tour through the Atlas.
Day 3: Azib N'Likmet – Tizi Ourai (3109m) – Amsouzarte (1740m)
Cross the Tizi Ourai Pass (3109m) and immerse yourself in the idyllic Tinzar Valley, known for its traditional Berber villages and breathtaking landscapes. End the day in a cozy Berber lodge in Amsouzarte. This stage offers 5.5 hours of pure nature and culture of the High Atlas in Morocco.
Day 4: Amsouzarte – Imhilene – Ifni Lake (2295m)
Today's hike takes you through the Islani Valley to one of the most beautiful spots in the High Atlas: Lake Ifni. This alpine lake, surrounded by the peaks of Jebel Toubkal, offers you a unique opportunity to camp in the midst of nature. Hike for 5 hours and end the day under the starry sky by the lake.
Day 5: Ifni Lake – Tizi Ouanoums (3670m) – Neltner Hut (3207m)
After the ascent to Tizi Ouanoums Pass (3670m), enjoy unforgettable views of the 4000-meter peaks of the High Atlas. The descent leads to the famous Neltner Hut, a popular meeting point for hikers. This stage offers you 6 hours of adventure and is a must for those wanting to explore Lake Ifni and the High Atlas.
Day 6: Neltner Hut – Toubkal Summit (4167m) – Imlil – Marrakech
The highlight of the journey: the ascent to the summit of Toubkal (4167m), the highest peak in North Africa. Enjoy the breathtaking views before descending to the Neltner Hut and continuing down to Imlil. A final 6-hour hike before you are brought back to Marrakech.

Oukaimeden & Toubkal National Park Trek: An Unforgettable Adventure in the High Atlas
This 3-day trek takes you through the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas and Toubkal National Park, past Berber villages and impressive valleys. Experience authentic Berber culture, rugged mountain paths, and unforgettable views.
Day 1: Imi Oughlad – Tizi el Bour – Imska – Tinoughar – Tidli
Starting from Imi Oughlad, we head north through the Imlil and Imenane Valleys. After a lunch break by the river near Imska, we continue through rocky terrain and goat paths. Our destination is the Berber village of Tidli, where you will spend the night in a family-run Berber gîte. Lunch and dinner will be prepared for you. Hiking time: about 6 hours.
Day 2: Tidli – Agadir – Oukaimeden – Tizi n'Addi – Ouaneskra
After breakfast, we load the mules and set off towards the Tizi n'Oukaimeden Pass, where you will have a stunning view of the Alm pastureland. After a lunch break in Toubkal National Park, we ascend to the Tizi n'Addi Pass and make a long descent to Ouaneskra, where you can end the day with a cup of tea and a well-earned shower. Enjoy a delicious dinner after a demanding day full of ascents and descents.
Day 3: Ouaneskra – Tinerhourhine – Tamatert – Imlil
From Ouaneskra, we hike through the Imenane Valley into the Tamatert Valley and cross the Tizi n'Tamatert Pass. After a lunch stop along the way, we continue to descend to Imlil, where our trek ends. A transfer will take you back to Marrakech.
