Marokko Trekking offers a variety of tours, including desert treks with camels. If preferred, we can also arrange Jeeps with experienced drivers to accompany you for part or the entirety of your journey.

In addition to the desert, we offer hiking adventures in the Atlas Mountains, sightseeing, and much more to suit your interests.

We can also arrange accommodations and transfers before and after your tours. You can choose from a range of accommodations, catering to different comfort levels and price categories.

 

Examples of Possible Tours

The following descriptions are meant to give you a taste of the possible tours. However, the length and route of your tour are flexible and can be customized to suit your preferences. They do not have to follow the examples provided below.

 

3 Days from Fes to the Sahara

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we begin our journey to the Sahara, passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests, home to wild monkeys. This is a great opportunity to capture photos of Morocco’s wilderness. We will stop for lunch in a small Berber village. Continuing through the Atlas Mountains, we will enjoy the landscapes of Midelt and Erfoud, where we will feel the onset of the Tafilalet desert oasis. We will then head into the Merzouga desert, where you can relax for a few minutes before embarking on a camel ride. You’ll spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Erfoud – Tinghir – Dades Valley

This morning we depart for Rissani, the desert gateway of Erg Chebbi, where we’ll visit a lively souk that’s rarely crowded with tourists, and an adjacent donkey park. We will continue to the Tinghir and Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, admiring the "Monkey Fingers" rock formations. Overnight in the Dades Valley.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Marrakesh

After breakfast, we depart for Marrakesh, passing through Ouarzazate. We’ll stop for a panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Film Studios. Next, we’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which has been used as a backdrop for many films since the 1960s. We’ll have lunch in a local restaurant in the village. In the evening, we drive over the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N'Tichka Pass (2260 meters), before returning to Marrakesh.

 

5-Day Dakar Rally Route Tour from Fes

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After meeting at the agreed location, we depart from Fes, driving through Ifrane and Azrou. We’ll pass the Middle Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n T’lghamt Pass. During the journey, we’ll stop at various points to take photos and enjoy lunch. We continue through the Ziz Valley and Erfoud, heading toward the heart of the Moroccan Sahara – Merzouga. Once we arrive, you’ll have some time to rest before embarking on a camel trek into the deep desert. We’ll capture the sunset between the sand dunes. Overnight in the desert.

Day 2: Merzouga – Khamlia – Ouzina Dunes – Tafraout Ait Atta

On this adventurous day, the journey starts with a visit to Khamlia, a unique Gnawa village. We then cross through varied landscapes, including sand rivers, abandoned villages, nomadic camps, and dried lakes, until we reach the Tafraout desert – a beautiful spot only accessible via off-road tracks. Overnight in this remote desert location.

Day 3: Tafraout Ait Atta – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we continue our desert journey into the Dades Valley. We’ll pass through the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, we drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see majestic sandcastles and the remarkable rock formations known as "Monkey Toes." Overnight in a stylish hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakesh

Departing from the Dades Valley, we head towards Marrakesh, passing through the Valley of Roses and Skoura, before reaching Ouarzazate, known as "Africa's Hollywood." We’ll stop at the Atlas Film Studios and then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a stunning fortress used as a backdrop for many films like Alexander, Gladiator, and Babel. After lunch at a local restaurant, we drive over the Tizi N'tichka Pass (2260 meters) into the red city of Marrakesh. Arrival in Marrakesh and transfer to your accommodation.

Day 5: Full Day in Marrakesh

Today, you can enjoy an optional private tour of Marrakesh with an official guide. Visit the famous Koutoubia Mosque, the Medina, and its souks, and explore some of the city's hidden gems, including the Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School, the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and the Majorelle Gardens. Overnight in a Riad in the Medina.

 

8-Day Fes to Marrakesh Sahara Tour

Day 1: Arrival at Fes Airport

Arrive at Fes Airport and transfer to your hotel/riad.

Day 2: Full Day Exploration of Fes with a Local Guide

Enjoy a full day with a local guide exploring Fes, the ancient imperial city of Morocco. The tour begins at the gate of the Royal Palace. You will have the opportunity to visit a pottery cooperative and see traditional Moroccan crafts. The guide will take you through the narrow streets of the Medina, the Jewish Quarter, and the tanneries. This tour covers all the key cultural and historical landmarks, including the famous Al-Karaouine University. In the afternoon, we’ll take you to enjoy a panoramic view of the Medina and explore the new city (Fez el-Jdid).

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
