General Equipment for Your Desert or Mountain Trek
Warm Sleeping Bag: Wool blankets are provided.
In Winter: Consider bringing a sleeping pad for additional insulation.
Flashlight or Headlamp: For nighttime activities.
Lighter: To burn used toilet paper.
Duffel Bag: For the gear you’ll take into the desert. Please avoid using suitcases or backpacks with metal frames.
Comfortable Daypack: For daily use.
Hiking Shoes or Light Walking Shoes: For comfortable trekking.
Comfortable Sandals: For relaxation, e.g., trekking sandals.
Water Bottle: Ideally an insulated water bottle.
Sunglasses: To protect your eyes from strong sunlight.
Camera: If bringing a camera, make sure it’s packed to be sand-proof.
Solar Charger: For charging electronic devices.
Hygiene and Medications
Toilet Paper: Essential for personal hygiene.
Refreshment Wipes: For quick clean-ups.
Soap: For handwashing and general cleanliness.
Sunscreen and Lip Balm: Choose according to your skin type; similar sun protection as needed in snowy mountain areas or at the sea.
Personal Medications: Bring any medications you personally require.
Useful Medications: Activated charcoal tablets (for digestive issues), Imodium, Motilium, pain and fever relief medication like Aspirin, moisturizing eye drops, Fenistil (consult your doctor for detailed information).
First Aid Kit: For emergency medical needs.
Clothing
Comfortable, Loose, and Long Clothing: For example, cotton trousers and shirts. You don’t need many items, as clothes don't get smelly quickly due to the dry climate. Exposed skin (arms/legs) should be avoided to prevent water loss and, for women, to respect local cultural norms.
Thermal Underwear (Optional): Very comfortable for the evenings and sleeping.
